Hidden Treasures on FilmOpen Weekend 26 - 28 September 2008“Excellent films, shows what interesting stuff there is going on in MK” commented one member of the audience another said “A truly eclectic and diverse evening”. The audiences appreciated the films and venues and acknowledged that the screenings had increased their pride in the community of Milton Keynes. The Enigma is a delightful retro cinema situated in Bletchley Park that has the added attraction of hosting one of the Projected Pictures Trust’s collections of historical projection and professional cinematic equipment. In contrast, Discover Milton Keynes is a modern showcase at the Centre MK for heritage organisations in the Milton Keynes area. The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games will put culture at the heart of the Games in a way that has never been done before. The Open Weekend was the start of a four year journey – an event that launched the unique projects that will showcase the UK’s diverse and vibrant cultural scene on a scale never been done before. The Cultural Olympiad will create a cultural legacy beyond 2012 and Living Archive is inviting you to become actively involved in this opportunity. Open up your stories and light up the diversity of our region. We welcome the donation or loan of your film for possible future screenings and inclusion in the archive. Have you made a film about an event, hobby or an activity you enjoy? We would love to see anything of cultural or local interest. Open up your hidden treasures on film and bring them to: Discover Milton Keynes shop 672 Silbury Boulevard CMK, open 7 days a week, or Living Archive, The Old Bath House, Wolverton between 9am to 5pm Monday - Friday Bletchley Library Tuesdays 9am – 5pm and Thursdays & Fridays 9.30am – 12.30pm).
